One of the saddest events to occur in 2019 was the fire of the great Notre Dame of Paris. We were unbelievably lucky to have visited the cathedral a month before this incident, on March 3rd, and attended Sunday mass. Here are our snapshots from our visit.
The inside of the Notre Dame is spectacular. From the architecture to the sculptures to the glass panels, every cm of this place was grandeur and beautiful.
As a non-religious person, I was curious as to why there was such a large gathering in the centre - tourists were allowed to walk around the outskirts of the cathedral - and Mick briefly explained Sunday mass, the story of Jesus and what everything meant. It was an intense hour with my personal tour guide 😂 We did enjoy the French prayers during our visit.
Before this visit, we had never seen so much gold in the one place. Drip, drip, drip. This room costed us an extra €10 to view as it showcased the history of the Pope and all the shiny crowns and statues of Christian history.
Thanks for reading! 😁
