During the worse period of this generation (Covid), we were able to sneak away to Japan for a few days to enjoy the beautiful late winter. We did a day trip up to Niigata from Tokyo, and stopped by Hakusan Park and Hakusan Shrine. This park is one of Japan's 100 best city parks, with its Dutch-style promenade garden and Air Gardens.
Just sharing our peaceful stroll through this area from 17th March 2020.
When Mick took a photo of me here, I felt like I was in a surreal advertisement for Adidas 😂 We absolutely loved this spot with the early blooming cherry blossoms.
We love city parks because of the juxtaposition in sound and vibes. It always quiet and soothing in the parks, with the sounds of birds chirping, and yet the bustling city life is only a few kms away. Like, how? There must be a magical spell over these Japanese parks.
All three of us were wearing our 2020 CNY edition of the Adidas ultra boost so of course, when we saw this crane, we had to take a photo 😂
We stumbled across Hakusan Shrine and paid a visit to the ancestors.
Mick took this photo of me and I looked so smol next to this lantern LOL
How cute are the emas (wooden plates) and this board??? I love Hello Kitty.
This shrine was so beautiful and if it weren't for the chilly weather, we would have stayed longer.
Thanks for skimming through 😊 This park and shrine were too gorgeous not too share. Jaa-ne!
