Dresden is the capital of Saxony, Germany. It is known as the Jewel Box, recognised by its celebrated art museums and baroque architecture. I had the pleasure of stopping by this beautiful city on my tour on Monday 25th March 2019. The weather was quite random so even though I was only in the city for 4 hours, it looks like I was there over a period of days lol.
The tour guide took the tour group to Zwinger Palace (HERE) and then took me to Dresden Castle.
Afterwards, the tour guide dropped the group off at Dresden Cathedral (Katholische Hofkirche) to explore for 2 hours.
I loved the colour of the buildings! The sky started to clear up for 30 mins, giving me these awesome unedited shots.
At this point, I started wandering towards the Bruhlschen Garden. The weather was not looking so good, hey....
It started to rain so I ran towards the bridge and ducked into Kutscherschanke - Uriges Wirtshaus for a delicious meal. I ordered the meat loaf with herb crust, roasted pumpkin and puree. The mash was creamy af! It was so satisfying eating this after a cold and wet day outside.
Afterwards, the rain had stopped and I began making my way towards the meeting point. I came across the famous Furstenzug (mural painted in 1876).
Finally, I found a cool spot to take instagram shots for the lonely traveller with a tripod 😂 Overall, I loved Dresden. It was a very peaceful and beautiful city and I can't wait to take Mick here.
