Last fortnight, we visited Amsterdam, Netherlands. We stayed at Hotel XO Couture , Delflandlaan for our five nights and had one of the best hotel experiences out of our Europe trip. We booked through Bookings.com.
Disclosure: We want to share our hotel experiences with details and honesty since there are a lot of sponsored/fake content out there. Also, we might re-book a place and this helps us remember where we stayed LOL. Our photos were taken on our Sony RX100V and we did not use a wide angle lens.
The hotel is located 25 mins via tram to the city central. The tram stop is right outside and you hop on Line No. 2 to get to Dam (one of the major tourist areas of Amsterdam). We did not mind the commute because it gave us a chance to see the suburban areas and Van Gogh was along the way, so we never felt like we were going out of our way to see the attractions.
Bed: Firm with a slight soft bounce. We are picky sleepers who enjoy our Koala mattress. This bed did a great job giving us deep sleep.
Cleanliness: Daily cleaning offered. We rate 10/10
Space: Not big enough to leave our suitcase opened on the floor. We actually organised everything into the closets (first time we did that!). There was enough space to move about and dry our clothes on the furniture.
Noise: Soundproof. We were able to sleep through til 12pm with no issues.
Air-conditioning: We were able to control the temperature of our room all night. We did not feel stuffy during our sleep.
Technology: TV showed local content. Wifi was fast.
Bathroom: Lighting was really good for makeup application. Lots of space in bathroom to move about.
Extras: They provided soaps, shower caps, coffee and tea (for free). They restocked it every time we used it too so that was great!
Amenities: We did not check out what they had to offer. We did hire our bikes through them. I believe they have 24/7 reception. You can also purchase your transport tickets at the vending machines in the lobby. Check in and out process was quick and smooth.
Let's be honest. When you're in Amsterdam, you're most likely high off weed. And one of the best things to do while you're blazed is to eat. Dolce is the restaurant located downstairs and they offer room service too.
There was a lot of variety of food available. It was reasonable priced and we would rate it 6.8/10 in taste and quality. The only dish we found that stood out was the pumpkin soup. It was very creamy and flavourful. It was a great way to help our hangovers.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we would book here again. Thanks for reading!
